Social Commentary For Non-Conventional Thinking
Social Commentary For Non-Conventional ThinkingThe notion of social commentary is something of a misnomer, though it might be all too tempting to take up the Mike and deliver a no-holds-barred critique of contemporary society from the privy to a pulpit or podium. Such a position might seem completely off-putting in the world of the spoken word, however not every social commentary topic is meant to provoke. In fact, there is actually a very specific type of social commentary topic that falls into the realm of the written. This is the written and spoken form of social commentary. These types of topics are usually presented as interviews with an authority figure. An example would be an interview of someone in the business world such as a CEO or a board of directors member. The most interesting elements of these types of topics would be the controversial things said by the speaker. Because the speaker has been given permission to use his or her position of authority, this often allows them to say things they might never be able to say otherwise. As long as the content of the discussion does not devolve into blatant name calling or rude language, there is a huge opportunity for these individuals to make a statement.People who have a tendency to sound overconfident often say the right things simply because they are overconfident in their ability to do so. Unfortunately, that can also lead to disasters when they try to make a bold claim. The point is that it is vital to remain balanced in an interview or broadcast and that includes being confident and still having some humility. This is what we mean when we talk about keeping your cool. There are also many examples of audio broadcasts that are extremely powerful. One example would be when political figures or leaders make a comment about something that's in the news. For example, in recent days, Donald Trump made headlines when he stated that police officers were 'very, very rough' with suspects. His comments caused quit e a stir because it was seen as an attack on law enforcement officers who may be too aggressive in their approach to get criminals to cooperate with the system. There is also the question of whether or not certain media platforms should be allowed to air controversial comments like these. In today's society, having the freedom to speak out about any given topic is seen as the primary human right. I'm sure you're familiar with the phrase 'the people united will never be defeated'. That statement was originally spoken in the United States Constitution but it certainly rings true in our modern society. It seems like we have become more convinced that anyone who is willing to speak their mind should be allowed to voice their opinion on the airwaves, but there is one aspect of social commentary that seems to fly under the radar. It has to do with health care reform. Most of the current controversies and debates revolve around the role that government should play in reforming the way our he alth care system operates. For the most part, however, it seems that articles writing are about the aspects of our lives that the government chooses to concentrate on. This doesn't necessarily mean that other aspects of life shouldn't be covered. The bottom line is that there is a lot of controversy surrounding social commentary and there is definitely room for constructive debate.
